Hello there. I am a single mom who has just been on her own financial footing for just a few years now. I am struggling greatly at the moment, and I need your help to execute my plan to get us to a better place in life.
I battled stage 2b cervical cancer just before I had to leave my marriage. I was still dealing with physical limitations due to treatment and the lack of being able to work like I normally would have put me on unstable financial footing right away.
Fast forward to current times...
I was unexpectedly terminated on November 18th, from the restaurant group that I had worked for for 2 and a half years. The gradual decrease of scheduling just before my termination has me in a very tight financial space. This happened to myself and 3 other women over 40, after a major over hire of younger people. Sigh.
I have only recently been able to find work as a server at one of the city hotels. It took a whole 5.5 months to find somebody willing to hire me at my age.
I finally found an organization willing to look at my experience and find value versus looking at my face and seeing old.
Things will turn around soon, but I am behind on everything and late fees have piled up.
I am still in need of being able to pay rent, keeping communications with the kids and employer through the phone and Internet staying connected and keeping groceries on the table for us. The struggle is still very real. I'm super grateful to have found something before the impending price hikes that are coming soon. I just need a little boost again while I'm getting there.
Please share my story!
You would be helping this single mom to keep life going for us while I get to better days.
I am treating this fundraiser as a loan, as well, so it would be a temporary investment for you into something good.
Thank you in advance for any consideration you can give and for sharing my story too.
To those that have given already, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You have no idea the difference you've made. Please continue to share.
Karen
