What was supposed to be a simple immigration process turned into a nightmare for our family. My mom is a U.S. citizen, and she started the process to help her mother, Elizabeth Garcia, get her legal papers so she could finally have stability and security here. We believed this would be straightforward, something many families go through. But instead, everything took a turn we never expected. My grandma, Elizabeth Garcia, is from Cali, Colombia. She came to this country to build a better life and has always been a loving, hardworking woman. She has sacrificed so much for our family, and now we’re trying to do the same for her. Instead of moving forward smoothly, her case has become complicated and overwhelming. What we thought would bring relief has now put her at risk of deportation. Our family is living with constant fear, not knowing what will happen next. We are now facing expensive legal fees to fight her case and protect her right to stay. We are doing everything we can, but we can’t do it alone. This is not just about paperwork, this is about keeping a family together. My grandma deserves the chance to stay in the place she calls home, without fear.
Any support, whether through donations or sharing our story, truly means everything to us.
Thank you for helping us through this difficult time.
