A child losing a parent is so incredibly heartbreaking, but to have her mother murdered horribly in their own home, by their other parent it is a never ending nightmare. This is what happened to Amiya Cunningham. On May 16th, 2022 Andanae Gates (Amiya's mother) had decided that enough was enough and she was moving out of the home that she shared with Clint Cunningham (Amiya's father). While in the process of packing, an argument occurred between Clint and Andanae that escalated and lead to Clint killing Andanae with a gun and ultimately Clint turning the gun on himself when the police arrived.

Andanae leaves behind her only child Amiya (7 years). Amiya's loss is one not only felt emotionally, but one that creates an entirely new set of worries, challenges, and obstacles to overcome.

 

While we can never fill their emptiness, sadness, and overwhelming heartbreak, let alone fill their mother’s shoes, we will do our best to make sure they know that they are loved, never alone, and can be fully supported.

 

How can you help?

 

Please help us raise funds to support Andanae's child who has lost her mother unnecessarily due to domestic violence and her father. Your donations will go towards helping ensure Amiya is raised with her family. We are able to provide their basic necessities, but your donation will be reserved for intensive counseling, educational supplies, activity fees, etc., for the next ten years.
