A sequence for faith in humanity.
Donation protected
After my son passed, I questioned everything in life….especially how I could possibly continue. One huge part that allowed me to push through was the support I received from what seemed like the entire world. One, in particular, was my friend Scott who hopped on a plane from Maryland. He stayed with me for a week when he and his family really were not in a position. During that week, he lifted me, carried me at times but was there for me. While the pain of losing a child never goes away, my faith in humanity was at an all-time high. Never could I have imagined the love and support I received from every direction.
One year later, Scott and Candace lost their daughter Katie. Put yourself in this place for just a moment because a moment is barely tolerable. Beyond mental damage, imagine what this might do to a person physically. I could tell you losing my son caused me a heart attack, so you may not be surprised when I say both Scott and Candice’s health issues have become life-threatening, and the domino effect is a clear understatement. With Candice on a transplant list and Scott fighting disability for some relief, they and their two children, Arwen (12) and Nathan (10), are fighting to survive.
This is my sequence to restore their faith in humanity, as you all did for me. If you can help, please help me help them!
When I approached Scott about this, he pretty much shut me down. His exact words were, “We need a hand….not a handout, but a hand up.” May this be the Hand Up this family so desperately needs.
