Dear Reader,

My name is Shawn Hurd, I'm reaching out to find anyone who believes that second chances.

1. Basic necessities such as food, clothing, miscellaneous needs.

2. They need a safe and reliable vehicle for a family of 5.

3. They need a home. Doesn't have to be perfect. Could be a fixer

upper. Just need a home for the kids and their mom and dad to call

home.

1. Because you would want help in some way yourself if you were in their shoes as well.

2. Because 3 children and their mother and father need you to see past them being just another family being needy. They are human

beings in a situation they do not deserve to be in.

3. They are a GOD fearing family whom would give you all the love and care in the world. If you could help them.

4. It would teach the kids that people can be kind and supportive something that has been lost due to social media and technology teaching kids these days that the

world is only caring and supportive to the rich and the famous.

1. Currently staying in a family room in the homeless shelter. that charges $350.00 a month if they do not pay. They will be

kicked out that same day. This shelter isn't afraid to kick out a family. I have seen it personally, when they kicked out a mom

and her young baby girls. Just for getting assistance from family promise when her husband ended up back in jail. Leaving her

alone with no money. Raising 2 girls under the age of 3. Although she was trying she only had half the funds and was told she needed the whole amount so she went to family promise for help and they said it wasn't good enough it they wouldn't except the check and kicked her out that day.

During a snow storm. So I do worry they would do it to us at any given moment if we ever fall behind just for a moment.

2. Spoken to Goodwill, Salvation Army, Applied for Low income housing. Spoken to multiple church officials about getting info

about possible housing options. Signed up for HUD. Applied for just about every program they can. If they find any other

program, that can help. They surely will sign up for that one as well.

3. They work long hours day and night. As a housekeeper, working for Door-dash, Insta-cart and any other possible way to make money legally and within reason of them being able to care for their children.

4. All 3 kids are enrolled in school and are doing their best. Despite how hard it is to be in this situation.

5. Constantly looking for landlords who will give them a chance to rent to them with poor credit and the father having a felony. Although, he has completed probation, drug and alcohol classes, anger management, parenting classes, and councelling. Its amazing to see the transformation in the

father. Given his life to our lord and savior, drug and alcohol free now almost 7 years this June 2026. Hasn't even gotten as much as a parking ticket since changing his life around.

Unfortunately, his past violence due to his addictions, has become the main reason for them to struggle. Even though he is doing so well. His past is hurting their chances at living a normal life. I feel that this family is due a real second chance at life. With all the effort they have put in. It's amazing that they haven't found help yet. Since becoming homeless July

smart, funny and is a pretty darn good dancer. She is very out spoken and loving. Always looking to want people around her to smile and be happy. I see big things with her in her future. She just needs to develop the confidence to see that within herself as well.
