Every day, koalas rely on volunteer carers to collect fresh eucalyptus leaf, transport them safely, and support rescues and releases. As the volume of leaf collection and rescue work has grown, Hinterland Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Inc (registered charity) needs a safer, more practical vehicle to continue this vital work.
Currently, volunteer transport faces challenges: insects can enter the cabin during leaf collection, rescue equipment must be carried alongside animals, and many release sites require 4WD access.
A four-door 4WD ute/pickup with a tray would allow:
• Safer and more efficient daily leaf collection
• Secure transport of koalas in the cabin
• Rescue equipment, leaf, and insects to stay safely in the tray
• Reliable access to remote bush areas for rescues and releases
Hinterland Wildlife Rescue plans to sell its current vehicle and purchase a second-hand four-door ute. After the sale, the remaining cost is approximately $15,000.
Any donation or share is deeply appreciated — thank you for helping Hinterland Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Inc keep koalas safe!
