Danny has been a LA native for just over eight decades. While he currently resides in the valley these days, Danny is originally from Boyle Heights.

Today we drove to check out Danny’s potential new van.

“Look at them,” he gestured.

“The mountains?” I asked.

“You know I haven’t been this close to them in years.” Danny paused as the range sped by from the window.

”I’m from over those mountains,” he pointed.

“When was the last time you were over those mountains?” I inquired.

”Years. Oh it feels like a lifetime ago.” Danny remembered.

Sure LA is big, but the fact that it can be THAT vast for someone was a heavy feeling. This van isn’t just a means of transportation, it’s a lifeline back to connections and family long separated. It’s a safe haven, a sense of freedom, a fresh start. It’s something to celebrate and something to honor. Please contribute whatever you can.
