Hello, my name is Mohammed AbuJoma, I am 24 years old, and I am from Gaza.
I have lived my entire life under war. I was born during war, I grew up during war, and at 24 years old, I can say with deep pain that I have never experienced a truly happy day of peace and safety. Every dream I built has been destroyed, again and again.
I am a Software Engineer, and I graduated at the top of my class. I worked hard, hoping that my education would give me the chance to build a future for myself and for my family. But war took everything from us. Our home was destroyed. I lost my job. I lost my work laptop, which carried not only my career but also all the projects and plans I had for our future. With every bombing, we lost not only our belongings but also pieces of ourselves, our dreams, and our hope.
Displacement became a cycle in our lives. Each time we fled, the first days were the hardest—we had no shelter, no mattresses, no blankets. We slept on the ground under the sky, not knowing if we would make it through the night. This pain is not just physical; it is the weight of feeling forgotten and left with nothing.
Now, at only 24 years old, I feel like I have lived a lifetime of loss. My family and I have no home to return to, no resources to rebuild, and no tools to continue my career. I am asking for your support to help us survive these most difficult times, to restore the dignity of having a safe place to sleep, and to give us a chance to rebuild our lives step by step.
