A Safe Place in Nassau: Help End Homelessness

Donation protected
Hi friends, my name Julia Yankow. I am a sophomore at Boston College and am experiencing homelessness in Nassau, The Bahamas after I was evicted and exiled from Boston College due to my peaceful protest against rape and sexual assault on campus.

As a response to my peaceful protest, I was beat by the police and illegally admitted to the psychiatric ward at Massachusetts Brigham General Hospital by the Boston College Police Department and the Dean of Students under the narrative that I was mentally ill as a violent risk to myself and others.

I have been struggling with homelessness and food insecurity since February 25, 2025 after the eviction. I permanently moved to Nassau to seek refuge from the thousands of threats and hate messages that I have received via social media. I am surviving from my emergency savings and desperately searching for an apartment here.

With your donation, I can fund an apartment, purchase a used car, and afford other living expenses.

Please note that I am unable to safely return to the United States at this time and do not have housing in New Jersey nor Massachusetts. I have decided to start my family in Nassau and permanently move here for a better life. Unfortunately, I am one of thousands of college students who have experienced severe civil rights violations and been denied humane treatment from exercising their right to freedom of speech, press, and to assemble. I ask that as you donate, you think of them too.

Thank you!
