I am 72 years old, and I live with my pets in a 27-foot trailer. For the past 2 months, my trailer has been my home while I wait for probate to be finalized. I am on a fixed income, and I started this fundraiser because I am suddenly without a safe place to park and stay.
I trusted a man who told me he owned a lot where I could park temporarily. I explained that I needed a place for about 6 months, and I gave him $600 in cash so I could stay there for the time being, with the understanding that I would pay more the next month. Everything was done verbally, and he wrote his name, phone number, and "owner of this lot" on a piece of paper. Then last Friday, the police knocked on my door and told me the owner wanted me to move or my trailer would be towed. I was shocked and heartbroken. When I tried calling the number he gave me, he never answered.
Now I am parked out on the street with no stable place to go. The police have told me that I have to move every 72 hours or my trailer could be towed away. Living like this is terrifying. I feel scared and heartbroken, but I still have faith and believe there is goodness in humanity.
The funds from this fundraiser will help me rent a safe place to park my trailer and stay there for the next couple of months. Having a secure place to go would give me and my pets stability and protect us from the constant fear of being forced to move or losing our home altogether.
If you are able to help, any donation or share would mean so much to me right now. Your support would help me get to a safe place and make it through this difficult time with a little more security and peace of mind.
