Hello, my name is Holman. I have lived in the United States for over 30 years. I am a hardworking family man, a father of five adult children, and a proud grandfather of four beautiful grandchildren. My family has always been my world, and everything I worked for was to provide for them and build a better life together.

Unfortunately, my life and my family’s lives took an unexpected turn. I spent four long months detained in ICE custody, fighting and hoping for the opportunity to return home to my family, who mean everything to me. Sadly, despite our efforts and everything we did to fight my case, I was deported to Nicaragua, a country I barely know and have not called home for over 30 years.

I arrived in Nicaragua with nothing but the clothes I was wearing. I have no home, no belongings, and no resources to help me get back on my feet. My family used all the funds we had to pay for legal representation in hopes of bringing me home, but unfortunately, we were unsuccessful.

After spending more than three decades building my life in the United States, I now find myself starting over from nothing in a place that feels unfamiliar to me. Adjusting to life in Nicaragua has been extremely difficult, and I am facing the challenge of finding shelter, meeting my basic needs, and figuring out how to rebuild my future.

I am creating this account to humbly ask for help during this incredibly difficult time. Any donation, no matter how small, would help me secure a safe place to stay, obtain basic necessities, and begin rebuilding my life. If you are unable to donate, sharing my story would also mean so much to me.

Asking for help is not easy, but right now, I am doing everything I can to find hope and a way forward. My greatest wish is to regain my stability, remain connected to my children and grandchildren, and one day find peace after everything my family and I have endured.
