Hello, and thank you so much for taking the time to read our story.

My name is Alexandra and I am a full-time carer and parent to three disabled children with complex and additional needs. I write this with the heaviest of hearts and feel sick to my stomach that we have been left with no choice but to ask for help.

After years of waiting our family has been offered a property by the local council which we are super grateful for. Unfortunately however, the home is not safe, suitable, or accessible for my children, and we have by the 5th January to move in.

The property has no flooring and is a huge injury risk. Alongside this there are holes in the flooring, walls and uneven surfaces.. These risks are not minor inconveniences they pose a real and daily danger to my children’s wellbeing, independence, and most importantly safety.

My children deserve a home where they can move safely, receive care properly, and live without constant risk of injury. At the moment, that simply isn’t possible in the property we have been offered.

We are being forced into an impossible position as if we didn’t accept the house we would have been left completely homeless.

Myself and my husband are full time carers and dedicate our time and our lives to meeting our children’s needs. This means financially we are ruined and just cannot afford the costs of the work that needs doing so desperately.

This fundraiser has been created to help us:

• Cover costs related to making the property safer and more accessible

• Fund flooring to be fitted in the entire property

• Relieve the financial pressure we are facing as full-time carers

• Ensure our children can live in a home that meets their needs
