The Heart of the Matter
Steven Palmer is a single father doing the hardest job in the world under the toughest circumstances. Currently experiencing homelessness, Steven is the primary caregiver for his 6-year-old son, Ian who is non-verbal and has severe autism.
The Challenge
As many of you know, children with autism thrive on routine, sensory security, and a calm, stable environment. Without a permanent home, providing that safe haven becomes incredibly challenging. Rising housing cost and the specialized needs of children like Ian who is non-verbal and has severe autism create significant barriers. Steven struggles to find stable employment because he must constantly supervise Ian, who often elopes and exhibits self-injurious behaviors. Unfortunately, Steven has no support or assistance, making it even harder to meet Ian's needs and provide the stable environment he deserves. Your generosity can make a real difference in helping this father and son find stability, safety, and hope.
How Your Donation Helps
We are raising funds to get Steven and his son off the streets and into a stable living situation. Your generosity will go directly toward: First and last months rent for a safe, sensory-friendly apartment. Essential furniture and bedding. Specialized communication tools and sensory toys for his son. Basic necessities like groceries, cloths, and transportation to therapy appointments.
Every Bit Counts
Whether it's $5 or $50, every donation brings this family one step closer to a front door they can lock and a bed they can call their own. If you cannot donate, please consider sharing this link with your network. Community is power, and Steven and his son need theirs now more than ever.
