A Room Of Our Own

After 15 years, my husband and I have decided to separate and regroup. It's the hardest thing I've ever had to do, but it's the best thing for us and our children. It's been a very public and humiliating experience for me, but I'm tired of feeling sorry for myself and am ready to stand up on my feet.

I have been a stay at home mom since losing my dream job after telling my boss I was pregnant with Bubs. We moved back to KY from FL to decrease our living expenses. My husband was able to find work right away, but I have not been so lucky.

Now I'm a stay at home mom with 2 young children, no income, and am stuck in a duplex in Wilmore, 20 minutes south of Lexington. The kids and I need to move to an apartment closer to potential jobs and childcare but we have no savings - not even a bank account in my own name. My parents are unable to help us further. I have nowhere else to turn for immediate assistance.

I'm coming to you, my friends, for help. I will gladly work for you - I worked for a decade in IT doing desktop and network support, installation and training. Heck, I'll clean your house, your car, you name it. I'm in no way averse to hard work - I do it every day but no one pays stay at home mothers for the hardest job on earth.

We need to raise a deposit and first month's rent for a new place for the three of us. The wait list for Section 8 housing is over a year in Fayette County (longer in Jessamine) and I don't want to take up a space in a women's shelter for abuse victims - we're not in danger and there are plenty of women and children who need those safe spaces.

Please help us in any way you can. We will be forever grateful. Anna and Bubs will be making Thank You notes for every donation. I'm coming to you humbly - but there is nothing I won't do for my children.
