A place for Jake ❤️

Donation protected
My name is Sophie. I stopped to talk to a young homeless guy outside of Wooten Way Sainsbury’s in Maidenhead on 31st Jan 2022. Its not much above freezing. Jake is 29, cold, alone and vulnerable. He was bought up locally by his grandparents but sadly they passed when he was in his teens. He lost his home recently and has been trying to get somewhere even in the interim. He has been living in a tent. Sadly the tent started to fail and his belongings got wet. I can’t imagine being wet and with no way of getting warm or dry, in that bitter cold?! he’s went to the council but was told he needed proof he was homeless. He told them where he was “pitched” but no one came after 3 days.

He is gentle and timid. He wants to work and get himself back on his feet. He has literally nothing but he has a good heart and we are a good community, how can we continue to walk past? Watch this suffering?

if you see Jake say hello. He said I was the first person to speak to him in such a long time.

id like to help a little by getting a bit of money together for him to start again. I’m a musician so will start to raise funds as I am gigging 3/4 times per week locally. We can help Jake. Let’s stop walking past ❤️

I’m co-ordinating the on going help and will support him longer terms to get him back on his feet. I will update
