I’m Tom Blackwell, an educator and PhD student at the University of Nottingham, UK. My background is Waldorf education, with more than 10 years experience as a Class Teacher.
The mental health of young people is a priority for the 21st Century. Providing them with the support they need to navigate the increasing pressures of childhood and early adulthood is key to building a more nurturing, compassionate society in which our children can thrive.
I'm raising funds for my PhD research exploring how Waldorf education and Mindfulness practice in schools may support the mental health and wellbeing of young people.
Can Mindfulness practices be meaningfully integrated into Waldorf education?
Can Waldorf education tell us how to teach our children Mindfully?
How can Waldorf education and Mindfulness improve our understanding of how to support children and young people in wider education generally?
These are some of the questions I'll be exploring over the next 3 years.
If you wish to support this important research, please make a donation to my fundraiser.
