Three months ago, our family lost our mom.
It has been one of the hardest seasons our family has ever faced, and my sister has been doing her best to process that loss and keep moving forward the only way you can after losing a parent — one day at a time.
Unfortunately, life decided that wasn’t quite enough at once. Not long after my mom passed, she lost one of her beloved dogs (then a week later her husband dropped that he wanted a divorce.) Four or so years ago, she lost her only son. Now, Very suddenly, her husband informed her he wants a divorce.
The timing of this decision has created a situation where she now has to quickly figure out housing and start rebuilding her life from the ground up... all while still grieving the loss of our mom.
And she’s not doing it alone. My sister is also the caretaker of six very loved dogs (mostly older wiener dogs that she loves with her entire being), which means wherever she lands has to be a place that can keep her whole little pack together. So renting isn't much of an option.
Anyone who knows my sister knows the kind of person she is. She’s loyal, generous, and the type of person who shows up for her people without hesitation. She has always been the one helping others when they need it — and right now she’s the one who could use a little help back so that's what I'm hoping for with this.
This fundraiser is to help her gather enough for a down payment on a home where she and her dogs can finally have stability again. She is halfway to her goal and just needs a little help getting the rest.
After losing our mom and then being unexpectedly pushed into starting over, because whose husband leaves you right after your mom dies..... she deserves the chance to build a safe, peaceful place of her own.
If you’re able to donate, share, or simply send encouragement, it would mean more than you know. Sometimes life throws a lot at someone all at once. In those moments, having a community step in can make all the difference because right now we are still drowning in our grief.
Thank you for helping my sister turn a really painful chapter into the beginning of something better — for her and her very determined little dog crew.
