Hello everyone, my name is Susan Guzman and I am stating this GoFundMe on behalf of my dad.
On October 3rd my dad was detained by ICE. After being held in the detention center for about 2 months, he was deported back to his home country, Guatemala. Since his relocation he has struggled immensely as Guatemala does not offer many job opportunities , despite his endless search for weeks, he has been unable to find work.
He wishes to relocate in Tijuana, where he can find a stable work and reach financial independence. Relocating will also mean that he would be closer to our family for easy visitation while he works on the legal process of reapplying for a U.S. visa.
However, the cost of a permanent Mexican residency visa is currently beyond our reach. I am a senior at CSULB working a part-time job, and my mother is currently unemployed and seeking work. It is incredibly difficult to manage our own financial struggles while knowing my father is suffering. We are desperate to get him closer to us, not just for our own peace of mind, but so he can find the work necessary to support himself and no longer rely on our limited resources.
We were so moved by the support on our last fundraiser, and it feels heavy to ask for help again, we know life is expensive for everyone right now. If you are able to donate or even just spread the word, it would help us more than words can say. Thank you for standing by us.
