A New Life, A Tough Start—Help the Demianiuk-Widera Family

Donation protected
On Friday May 2, 2025, Oaklynn came into the world weighing 7lbs 4oz and measuring 19 inches long. Though her vitals were strong, she was quickly taken to the NICU and placed on oxygen as a precaution. We hoped it would be a short stay—but their journey was just beginning.
Within 24 hours, they noticed that Oaklynn couldn’t keep any food down. Concerned, the medical team began pumping her stomach and contacted the London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC) for further support. By Sunday morning, Oaklynn and her dad, Chris, were flown to LHSC. Jen was medically transported separately.

Oaklynn now has an amazing team of specialists at LHSC working to understand and treat her symptoms. Chris and Jen are doing everything they can to stay close to her, and were recently accepted into the Ronald McDonald House. They are doing everything they can to reunite their family after being unexpectedly separated from their eldest daughter due to Oaklynn’s urgent medical needs.

As Oaklynn’s medical needs have grown—including upcoming surgeries—so too have their expenses. The distance has been incredibly difficult, and I am hoping for the support they need to keep their family together during these critical times. While they're incredibly thankful to be staying at the Ronald McDonald House, there are still many ongoing expenses their family is managing during this unexpected medical journey. Your generous support can help with things like medical costs not fully covered by insurance, travel to and from the hospital, parking, and daily needs such as groceries, meals, and baby essentials. In the months to come there will be multiple trips to and from London for Oaklynns medical care. Your support also helps the family maintain things back home in Marathon—like a reserved daycare space for Casey, household bills, and the impact of time away from work. Every donation brings them closer to keeping their family connected and supported as they focus on Oaklynn’s care and recovery. Thank you for walking alongside them.

They are incredibly grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support they have already received. Any contribution—whether financial or by sharing this page—will make a difference as they focus on Oaklynn’s recovery and supporting their family of four through this challenging time.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you!
