A New Chapter After Heartbreak - Support Jake and Sidney

Hi everyone,

It’s Suzanne. For those of you who may not know, I’m Sidney’s mom, and I’m reaching out to family and friends on behalf of Sidney and her partner, Jake, as they navigate an incredibly painful and unexpected life transition.

Just within the last month, Jake’s father, Joel, died very unexpectedly. His loss has left both Jake and Sidney heartbroken. For the past five years, Jake and his dad shared the family home—a place full of love and memories. Sidney had recently joined them.

Jake and Sidney had been planning to move to their own place in the near future. But they never expected to be moving like this—so suddenly, while grieving, and under circumstances beyond their control. Circumstances that have added a lot of stress and complicated their grief.

Through it all, Sidney has been a steady support for Jake while grieving herself. Together, they are working, paying all the household bills, and doing their best to manage everything while packing, coordinating the move, and lovingly going through Joel’s cherished belongings.

This transition has brought not only emotional weight but the financial strain aseociated with starting over in a new home within the next week.
