From the Mirakowski Family: Please, give us a moment of your time to read our story. Our hearts are utterly shattered. We are the Mirakowskis – just my husband, myself, and our precious girl, Felicia. She wasn't just a pet; she was our true baby, the child we never had, and we poured every ounce of our love into her for ten incredible years. She filled our lives with boundless joy, becoming the very reason we woke up each morning and the warmth that called us home every evening.
The nightmare began last May. Our sweet Felicia started getting sick, her tiny breathing passages, even smaller than other English Bulldogs, struggling with the cruel grip of upper and lower brachycephaly. The vets delivered the devastating news: she wouldn't survive surgery. They urged us to "let her go," a phrase that ripped through us, because our brave girl, even then, wanted to come home. We simply couldn't abandon her.
We brought her back to the comfort of our home, clinging to every last shred of hope, trying desperately to help her lose weight. We gained precious months, just five, before the battle intensified. We spent $3,000 on a cooling gel mattress so she could sleep beside us, every night, safe from the oppressive heat that made her pant so desperately. We changed her diet to Farmer's Dog, added omega-3 and probiotic supplements, bought her countless soft beds, cozy blankets, and even her own little couch. We filled our home with air purifiers and dehumidifiers, anything, everything, to ease her struggle. We poured every ounce of our love, our time, our resources into her, giving her absolutely all we had. Yet, despite every desperate measure, every whispered prayer, we still couldn't save her. The pain of that truth is a heavy, suffocating weight.
Now, our house feels empty, a hollow echo of the vibrant life she brought to it. We can't stop the tears, and frankly, the thought of living here without her is unbearable.
A Plea from Our Hearts
Today, we are reaching out, humbly, desperately, for help. We long to bring Felicia back into our lives, in any way possible. Our dream, our fervent hope, is to adopt a cloned Felicia, a puppy who looks exactly like her, or perhaps, whose spirit we can believe is intertwined with hers. We can't bear to wait any longer; life feels too short without her comforting presence. We just want our Felicia back.
We know that English Bulldogs are incredibly expensive, but we are ready to give everything we have for the chance to live with her again. We have never asked for anything like this before, but we are clinging to the hope that with your support, we can begin to rebuild our shattered family.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story.
