A New Beginning for Krystal & Her 8 Children

Hi, my name is Rebekah. I was introduced to Krystal through a local Facebook moms-in-need group. Krystal has regularly contributed to this community and other moms in need, even when things have been tight for her. She is now in a rough living situation (a 1-bedroom trailer that has seen better days, to put it mildly) because there are so few options available for a family of 9 (Yes, I said 9!!), and her previous rental was sold. Unfortunately, this is an all too common story.
Krystal is a hard worker and is doing everything she can to ensure she is taking great care of her 8 children as a single mom. I come from a large family, and there are unique things one has to deal with when you have a large family--not to mention the extra mouths to feed. She has a part-time job, and she is already working with a couple of community organizations. As you can probably imagine, hauling 8 kiddos around town or planning for childcare makes it difficult to a) find additional work, b) wade through the red tape and paperwork required to access resources that she might be eligible for, and c) find another housing option.
I'm starting this gofundme because I need a centralized way to pull support together - but we could use nonfinancial help as well.
We have some specific asks/ways for you to help:
- If you can spare it, please make a donation to this fund. Our first hope is to use this crowdsourcing to help Krystal and her family get into more stable housing (i.e., deposit, advance rent, utilities, etc.). We will update the fund with how the money is spent.
- If you are a landlord in the Wentzville, MO or St. Charles or St. Peters areas, or if you have connections, please reach out to me directly. If you are willing to accept a Section 8 housing voucher, that's preferred, but not a deal breaker.
- If you have a job opportunity for Krystal (she has experience with food service and CNA), please reach out!
- If you have experience navigating resources for housing insecure families and would be willing to help us, please reach out to me directly!
- Krystal's dream is to take classes to provide permanent makeup services and eyelash extensions out of her own salon space. If you are a business owner/salon owner who would be willing to coach Krystal on what it will take to start her own business, please reach out to me directly.
- If you have good condition clothes in these sizes that you would donate: Women's 5/6, Girls sizes 10, 8 (specifically, soft leggings, t-shirts, hoodies), and 6.
