Hi, my name is LeAnna. I’m the big sister of Cameron (22) and AnnaMarie (18). My mom is a single parent raising two adult children with cerebral palsy, and she has always done everything she can for us without ever asking for anything in return. She’s stubborn in the best way — she’ll struggle before she ever asks for help. So I’m doing this for her.

This is our story.

About five years ago, we were blessed with a wheelchair-accessible van from a family who had just lost their loved one to ALS. That van honestly changed our lives. It let Cameron and Anna get out into the world, go places, and just feel included.

But as they’ve gotten older and bigger, we’ve simply outgrown it. The van was only made for one wheelchair, and we’re trying to fit two. Because of the extra weight, the bottom of the van hits bumps and uneven roads, and it’s caused damage underneath. The ramp barely works, the doors don’t always close right, and every time we fix something, something else goes wrong. At this point, it’s just not safe anymore.

What hurts is that Cameron and Anna LOVE being out in the community. They love seeing friends, going to the rodeo, visiting family, running to the store, and of course getting to their doctor appointments and therapy. A working van isn’t just a vehicle for them — it’s their way of actually living life outside the house.

We’ve tried to keep the old van going as long as possible, but we can’t keep putting money into something that’s falling apart. And my mom would never ask for help, even though she desperately needs it. So I’m asking for us.
