Help T'kayla's kids remain productive and healthy!

My Daughter's Legacy

This is in memory of my daughter, T’kayla Wilson who passed away November 10, 2022. T’kayla had asked a friend if she had something for the pain because she was suffering a bad headache as well as some stress the night of Nov 9, 2022. The next morning, my granddaughter, Nevaeh called me and said that her mother's body was cold, and her lips were blue. She told me that her and her siblings Trinity 9 and Lyric 5 had awakened in the bed with her to find her passed away. Devastated, I found out that my daughter had passed away due to a Fentanyl overdose. I don’t think she was aware of what it was exactly that she was taking.

T’kayla was a good mother that nurtured and provided for her children without their fathers. She had great ambition to be the best mom she could be to her daughters being a single parent. She felt she had to create the best within them so they could be all they were supposed to be without the limitation of knowing they did not have their father. It was indeed a struggle for her to cope with this fact but she managed to keep them in activities that would excel their growth going forward into their future. Her children were her focal point. Her daughters are amazingly talented and very energetic. They are often involved in opportunities such as cheerleading, dance, chorus and recording studios, and they are good at it! They also excel academically as well. Nevaeh volunteered for summer school this year. She wanted to make sure she expanded her knowledge for the upcoming school year. Trinity was struggling a bit after her mother's passing but fought hard to get herself back into alignment with herself emotionally as well as academically. Lyric is a natural fighter of life. After enduring three open heart surgeries, she is the most amazing inspiration to her sisters. She has the ability to uplift them when they are down. She uses her heart to give them the love her mother gave to her. They are truly my daughter's legacy. I want to continue a healthy pattern going forward in their lives so they can be an inspiration to someone else someday. The journey of fighting to live without your parents is certainly an experience I wouldn’t understand, but the journey of losing a daughter as special as T’kayla will certainly not be in vain.....

As Tkayla's mother, I always thought I could know what was going on with her internally and that I could detect signs externally, but I'm really not sure if it was because of her depression she chose to self-medicate or if this was done to her without her knowing. What I do know is that three children have been affected in this situation and myself being a single grandmother do not (at this current moment) have the resources to take them to bigger heights. I am asking for the support of the community to help establish a fresh start so they can excel and grow going forward and be a rock (Solid Foundation) for other children going through similar circumstances.

And I am working to build a Foundation for children who have lost a parent or parents in similar circumstances. If left with loved ones with minimal support, it can be daunting not knowing how you are going to take the responsibility of going forward. I am planning to pledge $I00 ea month documented as well as posts updates on the growth and success of the children and how this money will be used to help them and other children. I know what it's like to want to fund your Children's Dreams but you feel you can't, due to lack of financial stability....
