Go fund me for my friend
I am creating this fundraiser for my friend who is battling end stage renal diease. Donkiya Robinson Dailey is the mother of an amazing little girl. As a person and a mom she is the strongest women I have ever meet. Her strength and love for God and people are the characteristics she's known for.
What you should also know is this: she would never ask for help for herself — but as her friend, I understand that this season makes support not just helpful, but necessary.
In 2021, Kiya was diagnosed with End Stage Renal Disease and has been on dialysis three times a week ever since. She drives herself to every treatment and continues to push forward with grace and determination. Her primary focus is to be healthy for her medically fragile baby girl.
Dialysis sustains her life, but a kidney transplant is her best hope for long-term health and stability for them both.
She is currently completing transplant evaluations at multiple centers — including Duke, Charleston, and Charlotte — to increase her chances of receiving a kidney. This involves ongoing travel, testing, specialist visits, and preparation appointments.
This fundraiser is not only for her future transplant — it is also to help with current, everyday expenses while she continues treatment and transplant preparation.
Costs include:
• Travel to transplant centers and medical appointments
• Rental transportation and gas for traveling to clinic visits.
• Lodging near transplant hospitals during surgery and recovery
• Required extended stay near the hospital after transplant
• Household and living expenses while waiting for transplant and after recovery
Kiya is a devoted single mother raising her miracle child while managing a life-threatening illness. She carries this load quietly and faithfully. Even without chronic illness, making ends meet can be challenging — and transplant preparation and medical travel add many additional responsibilities and demands.
She is praying for a kidney donor. Not everyone can be the answer to that prayer — but we can be the answer to easing the load she and Ava are carrying right now.
If you are able, please give. If you cannot give, please share. Your support — in any form — helps create stability and relief so Kiya can focus on healing and preparing for transplant.
Thank you for showing up with love, generosity, and compassion for this incredible mother and child. They will be forever grateful. ❤️
