A Mother's Battle to Bring Her Child Home

I am reaching out in a moment of deep distress, seeking support and guidance from those who care about me and my daughter. As some of you may know, in May 2023, my mother was granted guardianship of my daughter due to unresolved legal matters concerning my ex-husband. However, since September 2023, she has completely cut off my contact with my child, refusing to allow me to see or speak with her.

Now, I am facing an even more devastating situation. My mother has officially filed to terminate my parental rights and adopt my daughter, accompanied by a permanent restraining order preventing me from having any contact with her. As a mother, my heart is shattered. My child deserves to be with me, and I am doing everything in my power to fight for our reunification.

I have already taken steps by filing the necessary paperwork with the Shelby County Chancery Court. However, I have been informed that my case will not be accepted unless I have legal representation. Unfortunately, I lost my job in January due to personal reasons, making it extremely difficult for me to afford an attorney on my own.

I am asking for help in any way possible. If you know of any legal professionals who could assist me, or if you have advice on how to navigate this situation, I would be forever grateful. Additionally, if anyone is able and willing to contribute financially toward legal fees, any support would mean the world to me.
