After coming out of a divorce myself with 4 kids and not having any idea how I was going to pay my bills each month, have groceries every week, provide Christmas, and on top of it all, pay for an attorney, I know there was no way—no how—I could have made it through financially without my community.

I have a good friend who has no community. Which is why I'm reaching out to my community. She is in an abusive relationship with a drunk and needs to get out. She needs money for an attorney to help her with a DV charge (that he played the victim in) and to get the ball rolling for a divorce. Everything is under his name, she has nowhere to go, and has 3 boys ages 9, 10, and 16.

Because of the DV charge, she is told to keep the peace, which has kept her hands tied. Her husband faked a sickness and hasn't worked since November of 2024. She's been paying what she can to cover the bills but has fallen short every month. Not to mention the times her husband has put her account in the negative.

Her plan is to save enough that once she has her ducks in a row she can do it all at one time—which is also her safest option. However, not making enough every month leaves her with nothing extra to start putting anything aside. She needs our help with bills, Christmas, and attorney fees. ANYTHING helps.

She is a great mom, a hard worker and is doing everything she can with what she has been given. She has been with this man since she was 15, in the midst of it all they have a family and have built a life together. This isn't, by any means, easy for her, but she is willing now, to do what it takes. She just needs our help to do it.
