A Mobile lemonade stand for cook up a cure

My name is DeAndra and I am a crazy cancer mama. I say crazy cancer mama because when my daughter, Starla, was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 2 and is still alive today to tell of her journey and we as a family are still in the fight to support other families.

As many of you may know, our organization, Cook Up A Cure became an official 501(c)3 in December of last year and I have some amazing help in assisting me in the leg work that goes along with it. Before the establishment of Cook Up A Cure, as far back as when Starla was discharged from the hospital, our family hit the ground running raising funds for families of children with cancer in the form of lemonade stands, and through the years the stand has expanded from our local schools in Bay Minette, to schools and events in Baldwin County, AL as well as Mobile county. I spoke it last year to a couple of my event volunteers that my desire was that we can make the stand mobile in some way (and not have to haul around a large stand or set up a table when hauling a stand wouldn’t suffice). I dream of it being an experience for all who attend and invite us to events and one day while scrolling Facebook what I was envisioning showed up in my newsfeed from a group I’m a part of. I saved the image to my camera roll.

Today, the actual truck needed to make this dream a reality appeared for sale in a local buy/sell/trade group.

The truck is a total of 8,900.00 but we are seeking $6,000.00 to purchase.

I was hesitant to post this as I understand that people will have their opinions but I feel that the work that we as a family have done in the community will speak loud enough to explain this desire. Please consider donating and if the truck sells before the goal is reached, we will refund all donors if you so request.
