A Mission of Hope: From Kenya to Ethiopia

My name is Kelly Samuels, and for the past 10 years I’ve devoted my life to building a school and orphanage in Kenya — a place of safety, education, and hope for some of the most vulnerable children. This journey has been my calling, and it has taught me that even the smallest acts of kindness can ripple out and change countless lives.

This year, on my way back to Kenya, I am detouring to Ethiopia to help with something incredibly urgent: restoring one of the oldest public hospitals, Jimma University Medical Centre. This hospital, once a beacon of healing, is now in a state of severe decline — lacking even the most basic equipment to treat patients. For my dearest friend, Ayesha Burns, this mission is deeply personal. She was born in this very hospital, and she made a promise to one day give back to the community that first welcomed her into the world. I am honored to stand alongside her to fulfill that promise.

Together, we are filling a 40ft container with hospital equipment — beds, machines, and vital supplies that will quite literally save lives. The only barrier left is getting it there. We urgently need to raise $11,342 to cover the shipping costs.

Every cent of your generosity will go directly toward delivering this lifeline. When the container arrives in Ethiopia later this year, I will personally be there to ensure it reaches the hospital safely — and I will document the entire journey so you can see exactly where your support has gone and the impact it will create.
