A Memorial Plaque for Mike - Help Support WRLL!
Donation protected
Recently, Wilshire Riverside Little League renovated James Combs Field to ensure a bright future for youth baseball in NE Portland. They are currently fundraising to construct a new walkway entrance to the field, complete with a visionary storytelling of the league’s terrific history. A "Gold Glove" sponsorship has been reserved for the McLafferty family to honor Mike with a plaque on the posts of the entryway (pictured above), and your support to reach the $5,000 goal would be greatly appreciated!
Mike McLafferty was a pillar of the Wilshire baseball community, coaching his son Owen for eight years and always lending a helping hand in any way he could. At Mike's celebration of life, many spoke of his commitment to the league and his impact on every child and parent he interacted with. His hard work and humble spirit inspired those around him. Back when Beaumont Middle School was the home field for Wilshire teams, he drew up plans to renovate the field - in the same light as James Combs Field has been recently updated. Though his plans for Beaumont's field never came to fruition before the Wilshire and Riverside leagues merged, his vision sparked the idea of change and expansion for years to come.
Your donation here will benefit WRLL's continued efforts to improve the new field and ensure an entryway plaque in honor of Mike's legacy. All proceeds will be handed directly to the league once the goal is reached. More info on WRLL can be found at wrll.org. Thank you for your support!
