Honoring the Life of Douangchay Sorensen
Dear friends, family, and kindhearted supporters,
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved Douangchay Sorensen—a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished friend to so many. She courageously battled stage four stomach cancer for 11 years, surpassing all odds with unwavering faith, strength, and grace. On February 8th, she was called home to be with Jesus, where she is now free from pain and suffering.
Douangchay was more than just a fighter—she was a light in every room she entered, a source of love and encouragement, and a pillar of faith in her community. She was a wife to Jason Sorensen and a mother to three sons: Josiah, Kalani, and Mathias. Despite the hardships of her illness, she always put her family first, ensuring that their home was filled with love, laughter, and warmth.
Her husband, Jason, shares:
"She was my soul mate, and we took on life together with God at the center. Our love never dimmed, and we remained steadfast in our faith and our family. She touched the lives of so many with her joy and kindness—she was our 'Mayor of San Marcos' because everywhere she went, she made new connections and left lasting impressions. Though we grieve deeply, we also celebrate her incredible journey, her unwavering faith, and the love she poured into all of us."
