My mom, Christy Clayton, passed away today, and our family is heartbroken. She was a bold, strong-willed, smart, caring, and spunky woman—a one-of-a-kind mom and Nana to my sons, Diante and Deandre, and my daughters, Teresa and Sarai. Christy meant the world to us. She loved gardening, the beach, flowers, and plants, and she made the best green chili stew around. No matter where she was or what she had to do, she would always find time to visit every yard sale, searching for little trinkets and special finds. Christy was always there for her family, ALWAYS helping in any way she could, NOATTER WHAT SHE WAS GOING THROUGH and her love and support shaped our lives in countless ways.

We are in a tough place financially, working full-time just to pay the bills and take care of our family. The loss of my mom has left us struggling to cover the costs of her cremation, urn, and a memorial where we can celebrate her life and say goodbye. and we hope to bring my sons from Arizona to Spokane so they can be here to honor their Nana. I am worried I won't be able to do this without help from friends, family, and our community.
