Our C and D Landscape family lost one of the best this past weekend. Cosme Velazquez passed away unexpectedly on November 17, 2023. He leaves behind his beloved wife and children still residing in their hometown in Mexico. Cosme has lived in the US for several decades and has worked for us for 20 years. He would work hard for most of the year, so that he could return to his family in Mexico for the winter months. He was an honest, diligent, hardworking, honorable man who left such a mark on our company and everyone he worked with. We will miss so much about him. Our owner Josh, came back to his family’s company after graduating college and spent the next decade working on crews alongside Cosme. They learned new skills together, frustrated each other often, laughed a lot, and worked hard to make their clients happy. Cosme has been a quiet leader, an example to all of the new employees we hire, and someone we could always count on to be steady and dependable.

We want to help his family. We want to help return Cosme to his home in Mexico where he can be laid to rest close to those that love him most. We want to make sure his wife is able to care for their children and not be left missing their only income, especially as the holidays are upon us. Any funds raised will be used to transport Cosme back to Mexico, and the rest will be given directly to his wife to care for their family.

We would be honored if you would join us in giving to this family that shared their husband and dad with us for so many years. We cannot fathom what it is like to lose your patriarch while he is so far away, and was due to return home to them the first week of December, before this tragedy happened. We are devastated by this loss, but we know his family is feeling this so much deeper. We just want to come together and show them the love and gratitude we have for a man who has always been so good to us and our clients. This loss hurts, we just want to ease the pain for those he loved.
