Marianne's Neonatal Hydronephrosis .

Ah, Hello everyone! I'm not even sure where to begin, in fact I feel rather embarrassed about making this to begin with since I'm not the type of person that asks others for help. But it's not for me, it's for my children and I'm sure most of you parents out there understand the desire to do anything for those little buggers. My name is Ariel, and I'm here today on behalf of my 1 month old daughter Marianne Catherine (we call her Mimi for short~), and my 1 year old son Eric James. Because this help affects his quality of living as well. At 26 weeks during an ultrasound they discovered my little girl had a fetal urinoma that was putting a lot of stress on her little kidneys. In hopes to relieve the pressure it was causing, they had to do a procedure where they went in with a really long needle through the both of us to drain the fluid in this cyst like pocket between her kidneys. That's where they discovered dried blood. We were very hopeful that the swollen kidneys would improve and shrink after said procedure, but to no avail unfortunately. Even though they monitored the kidneys throughout her growth, there was no way to know for certain at what level her kidneys were actually functioning. There were only signs of whether they were functioning at all, things like stomach and bladder being filled with fluid due to her eating and urinating. As well as the amniotic fluid level. She was scheduled to be induced December 3rd, but she had other plans and was born November 30th 2019 (She absolutely did not want to share a birthday, or even a birth month with her brother's, December 4th!)  Look at all the hair she came out with! 3 days later she was transferred to Wolfon's Children's specialty hospital and admitted into NICU where she stayed while they were figuring out exactly where her kidney functions were. Her right kidney is completely non-functionning(hence the dried blood they drained from the urinoma), and her left is only working at about 30%. To top it all off, the only functioning kidney had a UPJ obstruction putting strain on what little was working of her left kidney. December 30th she had surgery called a pyelostomy. They went in, cut out the obstruction, and stitched it back together in hopes that the ureter will heal and drain normally. As a precautionary measure they also put a stint in so if anything didn't heal properly or there was a complication it wouldn't affect her kidney function.    That was the back story, now why I'm here; The surgery was a success! Thank goodness. And now she's home with us! But because of her health complications, as well as just the fact of having two babies under 1.. I'm unable to return to my work. Even if I had, quite literally everything I'd make would go straight to child care.  Believe me when I say this is my last resort. I've sold everything excess that I own for bills, tried every work-from-home job I could get my hands on and was denied by every one of them due to lack of experience. I even was so desperate enough to try selling used clothing articles online... no success. So here I am, my last possible resort. I'm not trying to use a sob story to get free money from people. I'm simply asking for a little help from those able to give it until I can get back on my own two feet this summer when online classes start and I get my pell grant refund.  What your donations are going towards: I've wracked up $568 dollars on my credit card after using up all of my savings. I would love to pay it off before it lowers my credit score, which I spent years of my late teens early twenties struggling with three jobs and college to build.  (Not an unbelievable amount, but enough to bother someone who's always had savings, it kills me inside.) $800 for Rent, $160 car insurance, $400 car maintenance (which I desperately need but can't afford). All of that alone is $1,928.  It doesn't even factor in the incredible amount of wipes and diapers for two babies.. It all wracks up very quickly.  Especially gas back and forth to my daughter's specialists. She sees two specialists; Nephrologists and Urologists, as well as her normal Pediatrician. Lots of driving and big city traffic is no joke. I'm not even sure how much to ask for all of these things since we go through them like water. But I'll chalk it up to $500. Again I need to stress that I'm not asking for a free pass of living, nor extra money for frivolous things. I'm asking for those who can afford to; Please, help me take care of them. Thank you so very much for taking the time to read all of this. It honestly helped emotionally to write it all down and share our little family's struggles. Mimi says thank you as well! I swear I will never forget this help, and when I am on my feet I WILL pay it forward.
