My name is Jason and this is an urgent cry for help for my auntie.
In Kingston, Jamaica, a 72-year-old woman who has spent her life serving others is now in desperate need of help.
Cherry Williams-Vernon, lovingly known as Aunt Cherry, has given her life to caring for family and community. She raised four children, worked tirelessly, and lovingly cared for her mother until her passing. Even in hardship, she never turned away from responsibility or compassion.
But life has asked more of her than most hearts should endure.
While caring for a son who lives with mental illness, Aunt Cherry suffered the devastating loss of her only daughter, who died during childbirth shortly after her mother’s death. Leaning on God, faithful friends, and her devoted husband, she found the strength to survive that dark season.
Then tragedy struck again.
Her youngest son was taken from her.
No parent should ever have to bury their child — Aunt Cherry has buried two. Still, she pressed on, continuing to care for her son in need, holding her family together with quiet strength.
Today, her situation is critical.
Her beloved husband has suffered a stroke and is now battling Alzheimer’s disease. Just days ago, Aunt Cherry herself was hit by a motor vehicle, leaving her injured, shaken, and overwhelmed. The woman who has always been independent, hardworking, and self-sufficient can no longer do this alone.
Aunt Cherry needs help — now.
She needs financial support for medical care, daily living expenses, and basic stability. She needs prayer, compassion, and community. Most of all, she needs people to stand in the gap for her, the way she has stood for others her entire life.
Please don’t scroll past.
If you are able, give today.
If you cannot give, share this message.
If you pray, lift Aunt Cherry up.
Together, we can ease the burden of a woman who has carried far too much for far too long.
Now is the time to act.
