Hello, this heartfelt note comes from the children and grandchildren of Hilda and Ozie Martin. On one of the coldest nights of the year, February 8th, 2026, they experienced a devastating house fire that took everything they have worked their entire lives to build. A home that created memories for decades, holidays celebrated, and memories to last a lifetime.
By the grace of God, they made it out safely and were not physically harmed. But they walked away with only the clothes they were wearing. Their home, personal belongings, memories, keepsakes, and the sense of security they had built over decades were all lost in a matter of moments.
Hilda and Ozie are the kind of people who give freely, love deeply, and never ask for help. They are active members of New Hope Baptist Church where Ozie has served as a Deacon for numerous years. Now, they are faced with the overwhelming task of starting over—finding shelter, replacing basic necessities, and rebuilding their lives from the ground up.
As we try and navigate this new beginning, we would be eternally grateful for any act of kindness you could provide to help them with immediate needs such as clothing, food, and daily essentials. Any donation, no matter the amount, will make a meaningful difference. If you’re unable to give, sharing this fundraiser means just as much to them and our family.
Thank you for keeping Hilda and Ozie in your thoughts and prayers and for helping us surround them with love during this incredibly difficult time.
We appreciate you so very much.
