Journey to a Safe Home Needs Your Help

Hey, I have been on maternity leave as of March 1st 2025, I was working on trying to move into a new place where the landlord is actually helpful and doesn’t have important bills shut off during below 0 temperatures and things actually get fixed that are problematic.

I normally don’t ask for help but when it’s needed I for sure do whatever I can to try to get stable. I can afford rent of 400-550 but even working full time that’s all I can afford. I would be trying to move into a new place about as soon as possible now.

I am giving my landlord rent and now working to pay the bills that were supposed to be provided by him, so it’s hard for me to save up for a down payment and first month ect when I’ve been threatened if I don’t pay I will be evicted. Ive also now been accused of not giving him rent that was given and there is proof of that.

After him receiving a substantial amount of money, things are still not being fixed or even worked on in my apartment that was promised, and even the city inspectors had given him a 14 day warning on Dec. 4th 2024 but nothing has been done about it and I’ve been ignored.

After giving birth I’m just tired of fighting and just want to leave and find a better stable home. I don’t have a car yet but in the next couple weeks Im hoping I can get it legal (insurance, registration ect).

When I am off maternity leave and go back to work, I work full time and even extra when I can. And honestly it’s still not even enough money for groceries, rent, and bills
