A Journey of Hope & Community: Our Next Chapter

Dear Friends, Family, and Valued Community,

It is with humble hearts and a deep sense of hope that we share this chapter of our journey with you. For nearly three decades, the film and television industry has been our professional home, a field that has brought many blessings. However, as many are aware, the industry has faced unprecedented disruptions due to the pandemic, multiple strikes, LA wildfires, and other unforeseen events. As a result, we haven't had gainful employment since mid 2023.

During this time, Shashana has poured her efforts and passion into our 501(c)(3): PIFster (the Pay It Forward charity). PIFster empowers local nonprofits and community causes by giving them a voice and connecting them with passionate helping hands. Through micro-donations and community voting, we ensure every cause is heard and supported, strengthening their positive impact. PIFster remains incredibly important to us, and reflects our continuing deep-seated belief in paying it forward.

This is a Story of Resilience and Hope!

Our lives have been incredibly blessed, and we hold fast to the belief that there is a positive path forward for us, even if the Lord hasn't revealed it yet. We continue to actively seek work. However, present realities call for us to prepare wisely in the event we don't find a job.

After this extended period of unemployment, we are currently under a mortgage forbearance plan set to conclude on July 1st. To bring our mortgage current at that time will, quite literally, require every penny of our remaining savings.

If a significant, stable job doesn't come to us before this July deadline, we will need to make the difficult but necessary decision to put our home on the market. This will allow us to safeguard the equity we've built over the years and discover the new path meant for us.

Our Hope, Our Need, and This GoFundMe: A Bridge to What's Next

This brings us to the purpose of this GoFundMe campaign: If we need to sell our home, we'll need to cover our essential monthly expenses for approximately 90 to 120 days while the house sells and moves thru escrow. To bridge this entire period, we estimate a need of around $25,000. We've had friends and family step up to the plate already with tremendous generosity, and we can't express our gratitude enough. This campaign is meant to secure the remaining needed bridge funds, providing a safety net so we don't risk losing the equity in our home. We are taking this one step at a time, trusting that each one will become clearer as we take it.

We want to assure you, with all sincerity, that we are not looking for a handout. We have equity in our home, and should a sale be necessary, it's our sincere intention to repay individuals who generously assist us during this transitional period. We envision this GoFundMe acting much like an escrow account: we will only draw upon these funds if and when the need truly arises to cover these specific bridge expenses. Our hope is that new employment will make this campaign unnecessary, but wisdom guides us to prepare.
