A Humble Plea for Help: Rebuilding After Losing Everything

Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Strangers,

I write to you with a heavy heart, humbly asking for your support during one of the most challenging times our family has ever faced. Our journey to Zambia was meant to be a new beginning, a chance to build a better future for our children. But instead, it has turned into a series of challenges that has left us with virtually nothing.

When we left Germany we packed up our lives—our furniture, personal belongings, sentimental treasures, and the essentials our children rely on—and entrusted them to a shipping company. We had no reason to doubt their promises. But to our utter devastation, they vanished with everything we owned.

For months, we’ve tried everything—chasing answers, seeking legal help, and holding onto hope for a resolution. But the complexities of international law, language barriers, and the overwhelming costs of pursuing the case from Zambia have left us with no choice but to accept the heartbreaking truth: our belongings are gone for good.

The loss has been more than just financial. It has been deeply emotional. Our children have lost their beds, their books, and their toys. We’ve lost the furniture and items that made our house feel like a home. The thought of starting over, of replacing everything from scratch, feels impossible, especially after the financial strain of the move itself.
