Meet Sheena and her baby boy, Joseph.

Sheena is a young mom doing everything she can to give her one-year-old a safe, loving life. After losing her parents and having no family to turn to, she and baby Joseph have ended up living on the streets of Minneapolis.

When we met Sheena, she was exhausted, cold, and holding her baby close, trying to get enough money for a room for the night. She prays for “somewhere safe for him to stay” and the chance to find a job so she can better take care of him.

Sheena has been looking for jobs, but it’s extremely difficult when she doesn't have a place to sleep, a shower to get ready, or childcare for her baby. She’s doing her best — she just needs a chance.

We were moved by her strength, her heart, and the love she has for her son. Sheena told us:

“My dream is just to be a good mom.”

No one should have to sleep on the streets — especially not a mom and her one-year-old baby.

Together we can change that.

Our Goal

To raise enough money to get Sheena and Joseph off the streets and into a home — somewhere safe, warm, and stable where she can rebuild her life.

Rent and utilities (we hope to secure a full year of housing)

Childcare so she can work and provide for Joseph

Basic essentials like food, clothing, and transportation.
