A Home For Masi

Hi friends!
Last June, I had the opportunity to travel to the islands of Fiji, where I met many beautiful souls along the way. Fiji is overflowing with genuine love, and the people there are a true reflection of that.
I've come to realize that the real gift of experiencing the world beyond your own is meeting people who, somehow, feel like you’ve known for lifetimes.
On the tail end of my travels, I met a loving woman named Masi. She worked at the local hostel where I was staying, hand-making and selling her jewelry by the ocean. From the moment I met Masi, she welcomed me like I was a part of her family. We sat and talked for hours—those hours turned into days and long nights.
We talked about her life—past, present, and especially her dreams for the future. I learned that Masi is in need of a home. Her current living conditions are not sustainable, and she has never had a place to truly call her own—a space where she, her son, and anyone in need can feel safe and at peace.
She also dreams of expanding her jewelry business and opening a small shop on the hostel grounds—still by the ocean, of course :)
Masi is at the hostel almost every day, creating and selling her beautiful pieces. But as you can imagine, making enough money to build a home is a big challenge. So, we came up with an idea: she would send me pieces she makes, and I’d do my best to sell them here in the U.S.
Recently, I received a package of her jewelry and spent some time figuring out how best to share it. After thinking it through, I realized what I really wanted was to create a fundraiser—something that could support her not just through sales, but through the love and generosity of others.
While I was in Fiji, I came across a quote that stayed with me:
"Love is the one thing that has no currency. You can definitely underspend it, but you can never overspend it."
Even if you’re unable to donate financially, simply sending love is more than enough.
Love is what connects us all—even oceans apart.
