Elana is a beautifully kind and sweet 75 year old woman who is blind one eye and is losing her sight in the other. She has been wronged by the healthcare and insurance systems and it has resulted in her living without a home for weeks now. But when you talk to her you do not see bitterness, you’ll meet the incredibly strong heart that continues to find ways to eat healthy, shower at the YMCA, travel by bus to do laundry, and fight for a chance to restore her vision. Elana greets me every encounter with a bright smile and sweet compliment. She is such a light and loves to share about her passion for shows and the legal system and even biology.
Elana has shown me what true strength and persistence and faith looks like. As we continue to pray for healing and an opportunity for surgery, it would be amazing if you could also keep her in your prayers. Although I trust that prayer is most powerful, I thought that monetary donations for a place to stay, new clothes, or even to save up for the surgery would mean a lot to her. If you feel called to donate, any contribution would help!! Thanks for considering :)
