Dear friends and family,

I’m reaching out during this holiday season to ask for your help for someone very dear to me. My friend is a single mother to two amazing teenagers, and she’s facing an incredibly difficult time right now. After recently separating from her boyfriend, she was left without a car, and now she’s struggling to make ends meet—including paying rent this month.

Yesterday, she popped into my mind, and I had this feeling that she needed a check-in. The holiday season can bring so much joy, but it can also be a time of deep sadness and loneliness. I’m so glad I followed my intuition and reached out.

This morning, we spoke on the phone, and she broke down in tears, sharing everything that has been going on. My heart broke for her. She told me she feels like she’s in a dark hole and doesn’t know how to get out. She is completely on her own and doesn’t have a support system to turn to. The weight of societal shame she carries—feeling like she’s failing to provide for her children—makes it so hard for her to ask for help.

So, I’m asking for her and keeping her identity private.
