We are asking for help to give our Mia a holiday she truly deserves—a chance to feel pure happiness in a world that can often be overwhelming for her.
Mia is 17 years old and lives with severe autism, global developmental delay, a learning disability, and she is non-verbal. She experiences the world very differently, and everyday life can be incredibly challenging. Simple things many of us take for granted—communication, routine, comfort—are not easy for Mia.
Despite everything she faces, Mia is full of love. Her happiness is so pure, and seeing her smile or feel at peace means absolutely everything to us.
Center Parcs is Mia’s favourite place. It’s one of the only environments where she truly feels safe, calm, and able to enjoy herself. We have booked this holiday for June, as Mia turns 18 this year—this is such a big milestone, and we want to make it as special as possible for her.
The past year has been especially difficult. Mia relies on her wheelchair, but it has been constantly breaking, which has turned her world upside down. Because of this, she hasn’t been able to attend school regularly or leave the house as she normally would. For someone like Mia, routine is everything—and losing that stability has been incredibly hard on her.
We do everything we can to support Mia and meet her needs, but the reality is that her care comes with ongoing and unexpected costs. Items often need replacing, repairs are frequent, and we are always trying to make her environment safe and comfortable for her.
All we want is to give Mia a holiday where she can feel free, happy, and herself. She loves activities, especially when she can enjoy them with her two cousins who live with her—but the cost of these experiences adds up quickly.
Travelling abroad is no longer an option for Mia due to the challenges she faces, so this trip means everything. This isn’t just a holiday—it’s her chance to experience joy, to feel calm, and to create special memories with her family in a place she loves.
If you are able to donate, no matter how small, you would be helping us give Mia a truly special experience. And if you’re unable to donate, simply sharing this means so much to us.
Seeing Mia happy, even for a moment, makes everything worth it. Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for helping us make this dream possible for her.
