With Christmas just a few weeks away, our teammate Sinan and his wife are facing a tragedy that no family should have to endure.

Last year, they lost their home and all their belongings in the Asheville floods. Searching for a "light in the dark" and a fresh start, they moved to Charleston to join our team. They arrived here with nothing but the bags on their backs and their animals, true survivors ready to rebuild from scratch.

Over the last few months, they worked incredibly hard to turn an empty space into a home, slowly replacing the essentials they had lost.

Tragically, just as they were finding peace, a fire has destroyed their new home.

For the second time in a year, and right before the holidays, they have lost everything. All the things they worked so hard to accumulate since arriving; clothes, furniture, and a safe haven for their pets…. are gone. They are back to where they started: standing in the ashes with nothing.

We are organizing this fundraiser to simply give them a financial lifeline. We cannot replace the memories lost, but we can make sure they have funds for housing, food, and clothes during this holiday season.
