My boyfriend, Devin was hit by a car and was taken to an area hospital with suspected serious injuries early morning on Wednesday.

Devin is a sweet and caring person who loves to help others. He would drop everything to help others if they were in need. Which is exactly what put Devin in the situation he’s in today.

Devin was on his way back to the apartment and just before getting home, he saw a male lying in the street. Devin stopped the car to check on the individual and offer any aid he could. When it became clear that the individual had been seriously hurt Devin called 911 and tried to administer what aid he could. Unfortunately, while Devin was on the phone and trying to provide aid, he would become the second individual that night to be hit by a car.

The impact caused many minor injuries to the right side of his body and a more severe injury to his right ankle that required immediate surgery and will keep him off his feet for months. With a shattered right ankle, an injured arm, and hurting everywhere else Devin was told by the doctor that he is not going to be able to walk for two to three months or be active for at least a year.

Devin and I moved to Ohio less than a week ago because I got into law school here. His family is in Minnesota where he grew up but he came all the way to Ohio to support my dream. The first thing he said to me after the accident was how I would get to school...Because he won't be able to work/walk for a couple of months, any help would be appreciated in supporting Devin through this traumatic experience.
