A Helping Hand for Jayden’s Care

Donation protected
I am raising funds to employ a carer for my 4 year old son, Jayden, for a few months while I recover and regain my strength following the birth of my baby daughter in October.

Jayden was born on November 4th, 2021, after what had been a healthy, uncomplicated pregnancy. His arrival, however, was traumatic — he was born blue, floppy, and unable to breathe. It took 18 minutes before Jayden took his first breath. As a result he suffered severe brain injury caused by a lack of oxygen (Grade 3 Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy). Against all odds, Jayden survived, and every day since then he has shown us extraordinary courage and determination.

Jayden has Bilateral Spastic Cerebral Palsy, Cortical Visual Impairment, Epilepsy, Developmental Delay, and Microcephaly. He cannot move independently and needs full assistance for every aspect of daily life — feeding, dressing, bathing, and play. He now weighs 15kg and is getting heavier to lift and carry. Despite his challenges, Jayden is the light of my life, always smiling and finding joy in the world around him.

I have been Jayden’s full-time carer since he was born, as I had to give up work to look after him. I receive no support from the local authority because they will not provide care until Jayden turns five years old. I have no family nearby to help. With the arrival of my new baby, I am recovering from a C-section and facing a very real struggle to meet both my children’s needs safely and lovingly during this critical period.

I am reaching out to ask for your help. Funds raised will go towards employing a carer to support Jayden for a few months while I recover physically and adjust to life with a newborn. This will ensure Jayden continues to receive the attention, care, and stimulation he needs — and that I can heal and regain my strength without risking my health or his safety.

Your generosity will bring me relief and peace of mind during this incredibly challenging time. Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a real difference to our family’s wellbeing and to Jayden’s care.

From the bottom of my heart — thank you for reading, sharing, and supporting.
With love and gratitude,
Nia
