Ben Rogers is the son of Claire Hanley, who works in our IO department. Ben was born in August 2021, along with his twin sister Chloe. At 8 months old, Ben was diagnosed with Progressive Infantile Scoliosis.

This condition presents as an extreme curve in Ben’s spine which if left untreated would continue to get worse and impact his organ development such as kidneys, lungs and heart, and in some cases may be fatal.

In Ireland, the only treatment being offered was putting Ben into a plastic cast until he was five or six-years-old and then starting a round of multiple surgeries.

However, his parents discovered a life-changing treatment in Philadelphia that involved numerous procedures every eight weeks to straighten his spine.

Ben started his treatment almost a year ago, in Philadelphia – he is doing brilliantly and is travelling back over to Philadelphia this month for his 8th cast! The curve in his spine has massively improved with the treatment and we are hoping for another positive update from the x-ray on the next trip.

Five of our bravest colleagues in MUFG Investor Services Dublin will be taking part in a Sky Dive in Clonbollogue, Co. Offaly - in September, to help raise funds to give Ben and his family a helping hand. We are so proud of Chris, Naoise, Aisling, Ciara and David for stepping up to the challenge of a lifetime!!
