On October 31, 2018, I Received My Second Kidney Transplant At Wake Baptist Hospital In Winston-Salem, NC...After Almost 5 Years On Kidney Dialysis, God Blessed Me, Due To Me Fighting & Pushing My Way Through My Circumstances & Always Having Faith And The Determination Not To Give Up, No Matter The Circumstances; And I’m Very Thankful...

I Was Contacted Sunday Evening With The Possibility Of The Kidney Coming To Wake Baptist Or Another Hospital...I Was On The Wake Baptist List...I Received A Second Call On Tuesday Early Afternoon, Letting Me Know That Wake Baptist Will Be Receiving The Deceased Donor Kidney, Available For Me To Have The Transplant...Praise God, Three Hours Later I Was Admitted At Wake Baptist, But The Kidney Didn’t Arrive That Day...So, The Surgery Was Rescheduled For Wednesday Morning At 4:00am... I Was Awaken At 4:00am, Only To Be Told That The Kidney Still Didn’t Arrive...It Was Coming From Out Of The Country, Landed In California By The Airlines With Mechanical Complications...The Plane Was Repaired And Taken Off To It’s Destination, But The Kidney On Ice In A Container Didn’t Make It Back On The Flight...Since It Was Going To Arrive Too Late That Evening, The Surgery Was Canceled...I Knew At That Moment, That Wasn’t God’s Plan For Me & That Kidney Would Get Here....I Prayed And Kept My Faith, As I Always Do...A Couple Of Hours Later I Was Eating Breakfast & Was Told By The Nurse To Stop Eating...Within 10 Mins Two Doctors From The Transplant Team Came In And Blessed Me With Good News...The Airline Will Be Able To Deliver The Kidney By Noon...God’s Grace & His Promise To Me...They Sent Me To Dialysis Treatment In The Hospital, The Kidney Arrived As Promised, And Now The Kidney Has To Be Put On A Pumping Machine For Two-Three Hours, To Make Sure The Function Remained...Just Finishing My Treatment, I Received A Call & The Surgery Is A Go...I Was Sent Straight To Pre-Op & Surgery...The Surgery Is A Success & The Recovery Process Begins....

The Recovery Process Ended Up Being Complicated, Painful, Discomforting, And Stressful...Due To Loosing 18 Pounds Within A Week In The Hospital (Pounds That I Didn’t Have To Loose), Causing A Week And A Half Of Severe Constipation That Led To Hemorrhoids & A Fissure...Released On Nov. 7, 2018 With Those Complications, I Had A Miserable Time At Home With No Relief Insight, Going Insane...I Was Re-Admitted, Praying For A Solution And Comfort...Cause The Continued Everyday Of Miralax & Stool Softeners Weren’t Doing The Job...Plus My Body Didn’t Have Enough Fluids Left To Help Flush My Bowel System...

Two Different Liquid Laxatives, 4 Bags Of Fluids Through An IV, And Some Type Of Sodium By IV We’re Given To Me...That Did The Trick...But, I Always Questioned Why I Didn’t Receive Those When I Was There The First Week, And No One Could Really Answer Or Know Why It Wasn’t Given To Me??????? Mind Boggling To Me, But Relieved They Looked More Into It...Only God, He’ll Do It Every-time....

I’ve Had My 12/12 Anti Body Treatments To Reduce My Anti Body’s That Could Attack The Transplanted Kidney...I’ve Had My Staples Taken Out Of My Incision, Replaced By Steri Strips....I’ve Had My Tube/Draining Bulb Taken Out My Left Side, That Helped Release Unwanted Blood And Fluid From Around The Transplanted Kidney...And I’ve Had The Stint Taken Out Of My Bladder....Now Left Is A Kidney Biopsy, That Will Go Well, God Willing & Continued Labs And Clinical At Wake Baptist Hospital In Winston-Salem, NC...Slowly & Surely Recovering Day By Day...Regaining My Strength And Energy As I Slowly Regain My Suitable Weight...This Is Just The Beginning, Only Being A Month Post Surgery; And I Pray For No Ending To It All...Meaning The Visits For Labs And Doctors Visits Continue As The Transplanted Kidney Is Doing Very Well...
