A Gift for Harper’s Future
Donation protected
On July 12th, I received the worst kind of message no mom should have to receive. While Harper’s father and I have had our differences throughout the years, we were working hard to try to effectively co-parent for our little girl and to make her future bright. Things were just starting to slowly look up and communication was seeming to get better when everything came crashing to a hault.
At 10 am, while Harper, her grandmother and I were spending a girls day together getting our nails done, I received the phone call from Harper’s dad’s fiancée that he was in the hospital and he was septic. Not knowing much more than this, I still knew the outcome was not going to be good. Throughout the day, his fiancée was keeping me informed as I tried my hardest to keep Harper preoccupied and busy as to not worry about her dad.
At 745/8pm, just as Harper was being tucked in to bed, I received the phone call that a code blue had been called on her dad. Immediately, we took action and Harper went to spend the night with her grandmother while myself and my boyfriend went up to the hospital in Green Bay to show our support and be there.
We still didn’t learn much while there from his family, but we chose to stay in order to be a silent pillar of strength during a time of need. We chose to stay for Harper.
Leaving shortly after Harper’s godmother and Uncle arrived to take over, we went home to stay up and wait for a little bit and discuss Harper and what to do and say in case.
2 am came and we received word that her dad passed.
Saturday morning came and myself and my family gathered around her to help her through; to help her understand that her daddy went to sleep and was now in heaven playing with his dog Jewels and our family kitty JackJack.
Her world is rocked and her heart is crushed, and it’s going to take an immensely large village to help this extremely loving, vibrant little girl overcome such a large, unexpected loss.

While her dad and I may have not always seen eye to eye, one thing always held true: Harper was her daddy’s world. From day one, Josh loved his little girl, and would have taken more than just a bullet for her. While he was going through rough patches in life and trying to set things straight, he would still always be there for her.
She was his center and if he would have been able to, he would have fought so hard to stay for her.
Josh was an AMAZING dad. He was loving, he was goofy, and he was wrapped around her finger. And he will be greatly missed by us both. No matter how much he made me insane sometimes, he was still her dad and he was still someone I wanted so badly to try to mend things with.
- This GoFundMe is to help offset a lot of the medical costs that will come with the therapy Harper has at Catalpa Health to help her through this time. Being that she’s 5, she understands that her dad is gone, but she experiences extreme highs and lows, having emotional regulation issues and needing help with processing everything. That’s where her therapist comes in. We have an amazing one helping us with her ADHD and helping us now with this new turn of events.
- After the set aside 25% of goal is paid toward her therapy sessions, the rest will be set into a savings account for Harper to accrue over time for her when she turns 18.

Thank you so much for even just considering helping Harper through!
Every prayer, hug, laugh, and positive memory helps right now.
Sincerely,
Alexandria J.
